ABOUT AMC's BELLY BUTTON OILS
The navel (clinically known as the umbilicus, commonly known as the belly button or tummy button) is a protruding, flat, or hollowed area on the abdomen at the attachment site of the umbilical cord, found only in mammals.
Many cultures through history have recognised the belly button as being a symbol of life and rebirth. The Japanese have long had a special regard for the navel. During the early Jōmon period in northern Japan, three small balls indicating the breasts and navel were pasted onto flat clay objects to represent the female body. The navel was exaggerated in size, informed by the belief that the navel symbolized the center where life began. Buddhism and Hinduism refer to the chakra of the navel as the manipura. In qigong, the navel is seen as the main energy centre, or dantian. In Hinduism, the Kundalini energy is sometimes described as being located at the navel.
The Pechoti Method originated in India over 3,000 years ago with Ayurvedic medicine, one of the oldest holistic medical systems in the world. The focus of Ayurvedic medicine is balance and integration of mind and body. Ancient Ayurvedic writings detail a technique for administering beneficial essential oils through the navel. The Pechoti Method is predicated on the belief that humans have a Pechoti gland behind the belly button which can correct, heal and balance nervous connections present in the body.
This Pechoti gland's existence has been a tenant of Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. It is said to be a remnant of the umbilical cord leftover after childbirth. During pregnancy, the mother's body transfers nutrients to the baby through the umbilical cord. According to Ayurvedic medicine, this is accomplished through a connection between mother and child that runs through the Pechoti gland. When the umbilical cord is cut after birth, more than seventy thousand connections to organs and body tissues remain in the Pechoti gland. Ayurvedic medicine practices the administration of beneficial essential oils through the navel.
AMC's Belly Button Oils follow the general principle of the Pechoti Method but in a more simplistic and easy-to-administer process, recognizing today's stressful and hurried times whilst still ensuring safety and efficacy.
